Bylaws of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association
ARTICLE I
Section 1. Name and General Purpose.
The name of the corporation shall be the Minnesota Funeral Directors
Association. The general purpose of the Association shall be to promote harmony in the
professional relations of its members, to safeguard the public against unethical practices,
and to protect the public health of the citizens of Minnesota. It shall be a non-profit
Corporation under 501(c)(6). No officer, director or member of this Association shall
accrue pecuniary gain from its operation. It shall act in the best interests of all members
and the general public of the State of Minnesota.
Section 2. Plan.
Its plan of operation shall be to disseminate orally and in writing, at meetings and
in the media, information that will tend to carry out this general purpose. The location
and principle place of transacting the business of this Association shall be in such a place
in Minnesota as the Board of Directors may designate.
Section 3. Districts.
For the purpose of administration, the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association
(MFDA) shall be divided into constituent districts based on geographical location and
population throughout the state, such specific districts, not less than 10, no more than 15
to be determined by the Board of Directors.
