The Family
By Jerry J. Brown
When death comes, despair is diminished by the strength
and togetherness of the Family.
Death must not be met alone...
From the shock and inner-paralysis of
the death of one beloved, reality and resolve
become the wellspring of acceptance, healing and hope...
The family will unite and deal with death's
experience through covenants of
compassion, sharing, and remembering and love...
Memories of precious moments and treasured times
belong to the Family yet they must be shared with others
in the ceremony and communion evoked by death...
As sorrow begets joy, acceptance and serenity following
death will surely come as the family grieves together
and shares the pain of loss, anguish and despair...
And the spirit, energy and eternal essence of the
life revered shall nourish and sustain
the Family for all time to come.
