The following message is from Steve Elkins, State Registrar: The Office of the State Registrar is pleased to announce a new field representative for death registration, Judy Edwards. Judy will lead our efforts to enroll the remaining hospitals, clinics and physicians as users of the VRV2000 (becoming the Minnesota Registration & Certification (MR&C) system on January 1, 2010). Judy welcomes your leads on doctors and clinic managers that need assistance getting started with the electronic system. She may be reached at 651-201-5962 or judy.edwards@state.mn.us . Technical assistance for the VRV2000 is still available by calling 1-888-692-2733. For assistance with unusual death registration problems please call 651-201-5961. These numbers will remain the same for the MR&C which is on track for full implementation on January 1, 2010. An e-mail notification will be sent early in December with access to training and reference materials for the new MR&C system. Any computer currently being used for VRV2000 registration should accommodate the MR&C. All Minnesota deaths occurring in 2010 will have to be entered via the new MR&C system. |
